About the game
In one line
Pour colored sand into glass bottles, one grain at a time, and keep what you make.
Short
Your grandfather left you his cottage and a book of forty eight places. Pour a bottle of sand for each one, grain by grain, and fill the cottage with them. Sandkeeper is a cozy sand art game with no score, no timer, and nothing that can fail.
Longer
Sandkeeper is a game about pouring colored sand into glass bottles, a grain at a time, and keeping what you make. Lean the bottle and the layers slope. Poke the stick in and the layers follow it down. Tap the glass and the sand settles. Drop in a shell, a pebble, a piece of sea glass. When it looks right, cork it and name it.
Your grandfather filled his time with sand: a book of forty eight places, and a bottle for every one of them. You inherit the cottage, the book, and the pages he never got to. Every page is a place drawn live at its own hour, with the sands it calls for and three lines in his hand.
Finish a page and something comes home from it: an oar, a paper lantern, a jar of wildflowers, a carved loon. The cottage fills as you go, and it is yours to arrange, from the wallpaper to the rug you can slide across the floor. Any bottle can be photographed at the bench, or sent to a friend as a code, with no account and no server. And the cottage has one more room to show you.
Features

The studio
Portia Plays is a two-person studio making quiet games with a story in them. Sandkeeper is our second game. Our first, Stellar Nursery, comes to Steam in November 2026.
Every picture in Sandkeeper is drawn by the game while you watch, a line and a grain at a time, and every sound is made as it plays.
